As questions linger over a possible return to Leeds United, former loan star Manor Solomon has issued his first message since suffering an injury setback at Tottenham Hotspur.

Solomon enjoyed a successful 2024/25 campaign at Daniel Farke's side, scoring ten goals and providing 13 assists to help fire Leeds back into the Premier League. The attacker has since returned to parent club Spurs where he was due a chance to prove himself to new manager Thomas Frank.

But that plan has been put on ice for the time after the player was dealt an injury setback. Missing a friendly vs Reading last weekend, his boss clarified: "Manor has a minor calf injury, unfortunately, nothing big."

Thursday marked Solomon's 26th birthday and Spurs sent the player their well wishes via a post on Instagram. This allowed him to quote the post to his profile with his own message added, thus breaking his silence after the injury.

"Another year [birthday cake emoji] Thank you for your wishes. A small bump in the road, I will be ready to go again really soon [bicep emoji, football emoji]," he announced to his 300k followers.

Frank is still expected to take a proper look at Solomon before any decision is made over his future, leaving Leeds to wait in the wings.

Simultaneously LeedsLive understands that is what the winger wishes to do this pre-season, so he will need to overcome his injury and hit the ground running if he is to break into their established Premier League and Champions League squads.

But, Solomon may see his fate decided by outside factors, namely Spurs needing to comply with the Premier League's Profitability and Sustainability Rules (PSR) plus a desperate need for homegrown players to pad out their Champions League squad.

Both could possible mean that Spurs decide to cash in before the end of the summer window, allowing Leeds and Farke - who remains an admirer - to swoop in and add a player who is already comfortable at Elland Road.

The Whites have already been active in the transfer market as their summer began with the free signing of forward Lukas Nmecha.

They have since added midfielders Anton Stach and Sean Longstaff, plus defenders Gabriel Gudmundsson, Jaka Bijol and Sebastiaan Bornauw to their ranks.
