Manor Solomon's £12m Leeds United reality as Tottenham transfer stance clear

Tottenham Hotspur have Leeds United to thank if they manage to command a decent fee for Manor Solomon this summer transfer window.

The winger wants to stay at Spurs, and new head coach Thomas Frank seems set to assess the player during pre-season. However, it still appears likely that Solomon will move on at some stage.

After controversially signing the Israel international on a free transfer from Shakhtar Donetsk two years ago, Tottenham stand to profit substantially from any significant sale. That would, therefore, boost their compliance with Premier League profitability and sustainability rules either now or in the future.

The football website transfermarkt puts the player's current market value at almost £12million after his impressive season in the Championship. That figure is now back to where it was during his first season in north London.

It was at one stage as high as £17million in the summer of 2021 but fell to £15million by that winter and stayed relatively steady before his move to England, first on loan at Fulham. That value fell for the first time in over two years, months after his move to Spurs.

After dropping to below £13million in March last year, it fell further by the end of May, barely above £11million. It then dwindled further following his loan to Leeds, falling below £10million by September.

The nadir came in late December, declining to £7.7million after making a slow start at Elland Road, scoring just three times with only one assist. However, it began to rebound this year, rising above £10million by the end of March and is now back to circa £12million.

For comparison, that is just below how highly they value Brenden Aaronson (£13million) and Illan Meslier (£14million). Daniel James, Joel Piroe and Pascal Struijk are up at £15million, with only Ethan Ampadu (£17million) and Wilfried Gnonto (£19million) higher.
