Mauricio Pochettino has made a decision on a possible Tottenham Hotspur return as the club teeters on the brink of disaster.

Spurs currently sit just four points clear of the drop zone, and it is hard to see where their next win is going to come from, with the Lilywhites still winless in the Premier League this calendar year.

Igor Tudor has been candid about the spate of problems affecting Tottenham, with the Croatian having very little time to put things right at N17.

Several pundits have already warned that Spurs are not too good to go down, and it has now been revealed how relegation will affect the club’s managerial search.

Mauricio Pochettino open to Tottenham return even if they get relegated

It has now been revealed by GiveMeSport’s Ben Jacobs that relegation from the Premier League may not affect Tottenham’s chances of bringing Pochettino back to the club.

Jacobs claims that the Argentine would be open to returning to his former stomping ground even if Spurs are in the Championship next term.

However, he points out that Tottenham would find a need to pay top dollar to the 54-year-old, who is on a contract of around £90,000 a week with the United States.

Pochettino earned roughly £160,000 a week in his previous stint with the North London club.

Relegation expected to lead to mass exodus at Spurs

According to reports, many of Tottenham’s big-name stars will leave the club in the summer in the event of relegation.

The likes of Cristian Romero, Micky van de Ven, James Maddison, Destiny Udogie, Dejan Kulusevski, and Xavi Simons are expected to be poached if the Lilywhites find themselves in the Championship.
