Tottenham Hotspur manager Thomas Frank received another chorus of boos following the 2-2 draw with struggling Burnley at Turf Moor on Saturday afternoon, and now the London outfit have received another blow in the transfer market.

Spurs have already splurged on Conor Gallagher and Souza in January but are yet to seriously invest in their attacking options, despite seeing Brennan Johnson leave to join Crystal Palace for £35 million. There have been no shortage of rumours, but all leads have lost momentum as the window goes on.

Another one of those appears to be highly rated Brazilian youngster Rayan. The 19-year-old has been linked with a Premier League move and had reportedly been absent from Vasco da Gama training amid the transfer links.

Tottenham Hotspur and Man Utd handed Rayan transfer blow

Vasco outlet NT Vascainos had claimed that Spurs were in talks with the Brazilian outfit in September and the North London club have also been linked with interest this month. Transfermarkt still linked Tottenham Hotspur with Rayan last week, alongside Real Madrid.

Meanwhile, our sister site 3AddedMinutes named the player as a target for Manchester United, as well as Spurs. The Shields Gazette also claimed that a bid from Newcastle United was ‘imminent’ for the player.

However, last week it appeared that AFC Bournemouth had become frontrunners for the transfer following the departure of Antoine Semenyo to Manchester City. Sky Sports hinted that a deal in principle for £30 million had been agreed and, on Sunday, The Athletic now carries reports of a medical booked.

The outlet claims: “Vasco da Gama striker Rayan has agreed personal terms with Bournemouth ahead of a proposed transfer. The teenager is set to arrive in England on Sunday and undergo a medical on Monday.”

Thomas Frank struggles for attacking output at Spurs

Should Tottenham still be in the market for a forward, they will have to turn their attention elsewhere. It was once again two defenders who scored in the draw against Burnley, Micky Van de Ven and Cristian Romero hitting the back of the net.

A lack of potency has frustrated Spurs fans and played a big part in the boos at Turf Moor. Speaking after the game, Frank said: “Yeah, I think the performance, if you look at it throughout the game, especially the first half was good. The way we ended the game was good. Average second half, which you've seen many times.

“Then, unfortunately, the two moments where we didn't defend well enough. That's what we are working very, very, very hard on to try to get on top of. We are fighting everything we can to perform as well as we can, that's the way it is.”
