The potential return of Mikey Moore to Rangers could be significantly further along than previously thought following a telling development during Tottenham Hotspur’s pre-season tour on Wednesday.
Spurs played out a 1-1 draw with Sydney FC in Australia before claiming a 4-2 victory on penalties on 29 July.
However, all eyes among the Ibrox support were fixed on Roberto De Zerbi’s team sheet, where the 18-year-old wide man was conspicuously absent from the matchday squad altogether.
While official club channels and media reports quickly clarified reports for other high-profile absences, such as James Maddison and Mateus Fernandes, no explanation whatsoever was offered for Moore’s omission.
With Rangers actively seeking wide additions ahead of Friday’s trip to Dundee United, the silence surrounding Moore suggests negotiations behind the scenes may already be at an advanced stage.

Derek McInnes has made no secret of his desire to add “difference makers” to his ranks, while Rangers are widely known to be keen to bring the teenage prodigy back to Glasgow.

However, Tottenham had delayed making a decision while evaluating their first-team depth, with De Zerbi publicly admitting the same.
