Tottenham Hotspur are willing to break the bank and fork out €80 million to sign Real Madrid star Rodrygo.

The Brazilian international has gone down the pecking order at the Spanish club following the arrival of Xabi Alonso. He has often found himself warming the bench and could end up pushing for a move in search of a more prominent role.

Tottenham to go all-out for Rodrygo Goes

Tottenham are keen on making the most out of his current situation. According to a report via Fichajes, the North London club are willing to break their transfer record and pay €80 million to add him to Thomas Frank’s squad.

Rodrygo was a constant feature in their XI under Carlo Ancelotti, who considered him a “special” player. However, a lot has changed since Alonso took charge. He has racked up just over 350 minutes in his 13 outings and is yet to find the back of the net.

Real Madrid could sanction Rodrygo departure

With him struggling to get regular game time, Real Madrid are considering letting him leave. Meanwhile, Spurs have expressed a clear interest in the 24-year-old, who has the potential to be a special player.

Not only will he significantly bolster their attack, but he could also become one of the faces of their project going forward. As a result, Tottenham are ready to smash their transfer record to bring him to the club.

While Real Madrid are yet to make a final decision with regard to his future, a €80 million could certainly be tempting. Given his reduced role in the team, they could look to cash in on him and use the funds to bolster other areas on the pitch.
