Tottenham are preparing for the new Premier League season under Thomas Frank.

There is an expectation that Spurs will dramatically improve upon their 17th-place finish in the 2024/25 campaign, which ultimately got Ange Postecoglou the sack.

As a result, many of the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium faithful are excited about the new season as they dream of another trophy coming to North London.

However, the Premier League may have now disrupted fans’ plans for some of the upcoming fixtures.

Two Tottenham Premier League matches selected for TV coverage in September

Tottenham have already had multiple matches selected for TV coverage ahead of the upcoming season.

MORE SPURS STORIES

In August, Spurs’ away day at Manchester City is set to be broadcast live on TNT Sports.

On top of this, all of Tottenham’s European matches will also be shown live, including the UEFA Super Cup final and the Champions League.

Now, the Premier League (23 July) has confirmed that an additional two matches will be broadcast on TV in September.

Tottenham’s away trip to West Ham and their home tie to Wolves will both be broadcast live via Sky Sports.

The latter tie could be moved again depending on Spurs’ Champions League fixtures.

In the statement, the Premier League apologised for the delay in releasing the TV selections, given that it should have been announced on 9 July.

The reason for this was due to delays in local approvals for fixtures.

“The Premier League would like to apologise for not being able to confirm these fixtures until now,” the statement read.

“However, today’s announcement is in line with our commitment to give at least six weeks’ notice for fixture announcements before January.”

Spurs vs Wolves TV selection is idiotic

Why the Premier League has allowed for this fixture to be selected for TV broadcast is ridiculous.

The fact that this match could be moved yet again later makes it impossible for fans of either team to plan for the fixture.

Yet, this is once again proof that match-going fans are not considered when TV selections are made.

Hopefully, when the Champions League fixtures are released, there is no further change to Spurs’ domestic schedule.
