Tottenham Hotspur are now facing a Sandro Tonali transfer hijack from one of their Premier League rivals, according to journalist Damiano Er Faina.

The summer transfer window has only officially been open for one week, but Tottenham have already been the busiest Premier League club having already completed and announced three signings.

Andy Robertson, Marcos Senesi and Jan Paul van Hecke have joined to try and fix a leaky defence, while Roberto De Zerbi has also been boosted by Pedro Porro penning new terms.

De Zerbi will now be hoping he can keep Micky van de Ven at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium after recent links to Liverpool and Barcelona, while a new goalkeeper is likely to arrive should Guglielmo Vicario return to Serie A.

Tottenham are now focusing on strengthening their midfield and attack ahead of next season, with talks underway to bring both Tonali and West Ham United's Mateus Fernandes to the club in the next weeks.

It has been claimed by one source that Spurs have already agreed personal terms with the former, while they are 'very close' to doing the same with Fernandes according to Matteo Moretto.

Having had one bid rejected by Newcastle for Tonali, Manchester City are ready to hijack their move.

Man City 'Getting Involved' in Tonali Race

Manchester City have been focused on sealing a big-money move to sign Nottingham Forest star Elliot Anderson, but it has been claimed that they see Tonali as an additional signing to the England international, rather than as an alternative to him.

As City make progress on a deal to sign Anderson, they are now also ready to get involved in the battle to sign the Newcastle star, according to Damiano Er Faina, posting on X.

Tottenham have already seen a bid of £75m rejected by their Premier League rivals for the 26-year-old, and the update reveals that they are willing to stand strong in their bid to land one of De Zerbi's top summer transfer targets.

Romano Reveals Lucas Bergvall Price Tag

The other bombshell to emerge in recent days out of the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium is that Lucas Bergvall has informed the club that he wants to seek a new opportunity elsewhere.

It is of little surprise that, having seen his starts limited under De Zerbi at the end of the season, he now fears for minutes altogether at a time when Spurs are working on deals to sign Tonali and Fernandes in central midfield.

The 20-year-old is keen to pursue a permanent move away from north London now, and Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that the Sweden international is likely to be valued at between £45-50m if a club wants to prise him away this summer.

Bergvall arrived with great expectations as a wonderkid having chosen to join Tottenham over Barcelona, but De Zerbi's preference for experience may prove to be the final straw for his Spurs career.
