Managing Director Andy Rogers departed Tottenham Hotspur Women at the end of last season after setting up a busy summer. Until now, that role has remained empty amidst rumors Spurs could look to re-organize around the position. But today, Ben Jacobs reported that Kim André Pedersen will join from Brøndby IF.

On one hand, I’m glad to hear we’re filling this role with expedience rather than letting it sit open. On the other hand, I did think we could make a little bit bigger of a splash with this appointment. When I saw this news, I couldn’t help but worry that this move would keep us constrained to the same corner of the world. I love our Scandinavian contingent so much, but there’s a whole world out there. It’s consolation that during Pedersen’s time at Brøndby, the club has recruited some players from outside Europe. Brøndby’s current roster features several American players and a Ugandan player.

In a previous interview, Pedersen said his style “emphasizes structured strategy, systematic development, and the importance of a clear pathway for both players and staff.” For now, we don’t know much else about Pedersen or the exact nature of the role he’ll be assuming at Spurs. I guess keep an eye out for further info on this as the new year approaches.
