Richarlison has dropped a bombshell statement over his potential move from Tottenham to Everton ahead of transfer deadline day, and demanded that the club let him make his own choice.
The Brazil international has been heavily linked with a move away from north London this summer after four years at the club, whom he joined in a £60m deal from the Toffees.
Manager Roberto De Zerbi has confirmed that the 29-year-old has asked to leave the club several times this summer after entering the final year of his contract, and it was reported over the weekend that the two clubs had agreed a deal worth around £25m plus £10m in add-ons for him to return to Merseyside.
However, a deal has stalled, with reports that Richarlison is unsure about a move to the Hill Dickinson Stadium. That has allowed Man City to enter the race to sign Ndiaye ahead of Spurs, which means that the Brazilian could end up being forced to stay until January at least.
But Richarlison has now taken to his social media accounts to blast those reports and confirm that he does want to return to the team where he made his name, despite claims to the contrary.
"If they reach an agreement between Spurs and Everton, I'm going back to my favourite team," he said.
"My intention was indeed to return to the place where I was very happy. But the negotiations were the way people wanted them, and it won't be that way anymore. Despite the turmoil, I have a contract with Spurs. And I will be available to the club."
Richarlison then added to his statement on his official X account, saying:
"After everything I've been through in the last few years, I decided that NEVER AGAIN would anyone decide my future for me," he said.
"I went through a lot of bad things during that time, and almost all of them happened because of decisions made by other people.
"Pressure, threats, retaliation—none of that scares me. I've been through worse things... believe me! I've always made it clear, at every opportunity, that any move of mine to another place would also have to be good for the club. If it wasn't, I would never accept it... just like I didn't accept it when everything here was falling apart and they needed me.
"I stayed and gave my life. So, I hope they treat my situation with the same respect that I've always had for the Spurs and for all the people who worked with me during this period. Just don't try to decide for me."
