Tottenham Hotspur are yet to sign a forward this summer, so Roberto De Zerbi has urged Johan Lange to bolster his frontline before the transfer window shuts in September.
Roberto De Zerbi could build one of the strongest frontlines in the Premier League before the transfer window slams shut in September. Johan Lange has welcomed lots of new faces to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium this summer, but he's yet to sign a forward.
The sporting director has, so far, forked out almost £250m on three defenders, two of whom were free agents, two midfielders, and a goalkeeper, who was also a free agent. Lange has armed De Zerbi with the tools to build a strong foundation for his project, but there's still room for improvement.
Speaking to reporters following a 2-0 friendly win over Auckland on Sunday, the Tottenham boss outlined his plan to strengthen the 'attacking positions'. De Zerbi said: "It is not finished yet, our transfer market.
"I think we can be happier at the end of this transfer market, because I spoke a lot to the owner, the board, and they want to build a very strong team for this season, but to make the base for the future to become great again."

De Zerbi continued: "The target now is to complete the attacking positions. We want the first target, the first level, because anyway we are already important players, but I think to start the new project we need another couple of important players, for sure."
He then added: "It's not finished yet, our transfer market window. We have to finish, we have to bring another couple of, maybe more, maybe not less, but a couple of players."

Marcus Rashford
Rashford would be a great addition to the Tottenham starting lineup. The 28-year-old forward currently faces an uncertain future at Manchester United after Barcelona passed up on the chance to sign him permanently, so De Zerbi could help him find his feet in the Premier League.
Unless Lange breaks the bank, there are not many better value for money left-wingers available on the market this summer. Savinho has been heavily linked with a move to north London for a while now, but Rashford would be a much better outlet.
Mohammed Kudus
Kudus suffered a muscle injury at the start of the year, which he later aggravated, ruling him out for the remainder of the season, so he never had the opportunity to play under De Zerbi. The 25-year-old has since entered the final stages of his rehabilitation and looks set to report for training once Tottenham return from their pre-season tour.
Speaking to reporters ahead of a friendly against Auckland at the weekend, the Spurs boss provided a promising update on Kudus. De Zerbi said: "Kudus is very close.
"I think when we come back to London, he will be available to start working with us. It's a great thing for us. Kudus is another important player."
Kudus looks set to be a key player for Tottenham under De Zerbi. As it stands, there's no better right winger at the club than the Ghana international, whose quality in the final third, ball-carrying ability, and work rate out of possession will prove crucial as Spurs look to climb the Premier League.
Eli Junior Kroupi
Kroupi would be an excellent addition to the Tottenham starting lineup, especially if he were to be deployed as a support striker behind Dominic Solanke. Although the 20-year-old forward is more than capable of leading the frontline, he enjoyed a lot of success playing off a frontman towards the end of last season.
With a study pivot of Sandro Tonali and either Mateus Fernandes, Archie Gray, Conor Gallagher, Rodrigo Bentancur or Pape Matar Sarr, De Zerbi could afford to be more expansive and put Spurs on the front foot this season.
It could cost an arm and a leg to prise Kroupi from Bournemouth, especially with Arsenal said to be interested, too, but Tottenham would be getting their hands on a top young player, perfect for the Italian's play style.
Dominic Solanke
Although Solanke largely struggled to impress last season, he essentially spent well over half of the season nursing an injury on the sidelines. The 28-year-old striker showed glimpses of great promise, scoring in each of his Champions League appearances as well as netting a brace against Manchester City in the Premier League.
If De Zerbi can bolster his attacking options elsewhere and keep Solanke fit, the floodgates will open. By signing Kroupi and keeping Mathys Tel, the Tottenham boss will always have the flexibility to rotate him with two strong alternatives.
De Zerbi spoiled for choice
De Zerbi will be spoiled for choice when selecting the strongest possible Tottenham frontline, with the likes of Xavi Simons, Wilson Odobert, and Dejan Kulusevski set to become available once they return from injury later in the season.
