It was always going to be a tight game in Atlanta, USA, with the previous battles between the two sides, but after not a single shot was taken on goal within the first 30 minutes - a new record for a World Cup match - you knew this would be a game of fine margins.

Djed impressed once again, causing Argentina all sorts of issues with his pace, agility on the ball and intensity in the press, starring throughout the first half. At the other end, Cuti was cool, calm and composed in defence.

When England finally broke the deadlock 10 minutes into the second half, that Cuti coolness did not disappear. He's been here before. Argentina have been here before. For his nation, they had to be patient. But, they had belief.

After Anthony Gordon's opener on 55 minutes, Argentina could have been level within two minutes but for a quite unbelievable recovery run from Djed, who came from nowhere to deny Giuliano Simeone, who had found himself one-on-one with England goalkeeper Jordan Pickford.

Argentina built from that moment though. England fell into a low block and the chances started to come for the Lionel Messi-led South Americans with the woodwork rattled and Pickford tested.

Eventually - 85 minutes to be exact - an effort from Enzo Fernandez from range shifted the momentum entirely before Lautaro Martinez headed in from close range in added time to turn the game on its head and send Argentina into their second successive final.

The game was Cristian's 57th for Argentina as he played the full match while Djed picked up his 13th cap for England, playing 95 minutes before being substitued. Marcos was an unused substitute.

Cristian and Marcos will now face Pedro Porro's Spain in the Final on Sunday after he scored in Spain's 2-0 win over France in Tuesday's other semi-final.

Djed and England, meanwhile, will face France on Saturday in the third place play-off.
