Opta’s Supercomputer has revealed what Tottenham’s chances are of getting all three points against Aston Villa in the Premier League on Sunday.
Tottenham’s win over Leeds was the first time the club have won leading into an international break in two years, and the result ensured that Thomas Frank’s men have some momentum ahead of the crunch game on Sunday.
Spurs have an impressive record in games after the international break, but so do Aston Villa, who have found some form of late.
After a difficult start to the season, Unai Emery’s men have won their last four matches across all competitions and are unbeaten across their last five.
Opta provides Tottenham’s chances of beating Aston Villa
Opta’s algorithm has said that Spurs are favourites to win at home on Sunday, but only by a slender margin.
They give the Lilywhites a 38.4 per cent chance of emerging with three points while the Villans have been handed a 35.1 per cent chance of taking all the points from N17.
The draw is given as the least likely outcome at 26.5 per cent, but one certainly would not bet against the two sides sharing the spoils, given that Opta’s supercomputer feels there is little to separate the two sides.

Spurs have struggled at home this season
Tottenham boast the best away record in the Premier League, having taken 10 points of a possible 12 so far this season. However, they were beaten 1-0 by Bournemouth at home and were held to a 1-1 draw by bottom-of-the-table Wolves.
Spurs also did not convince in their Champions League clash against Villarreal at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, even though they emerged 1-0 winners.
Frank’s men thus need to show that they are capable of winning at home against sides that sit back and counter-attack, and Sunday presents an ideal opportunity for them to get their home record back on track.
