Teddy Sheringham has amazingly backed Igor Tudor to relegate Tottenham if he continues making one mistake.

The Croatian boss has replaced Thomas Frank on an interim basis and overseen three straight defeats in the Premier League, with Spurs yet to win a top-flight match in 2026.

YES or NO: Would you take Tim Sherwood back at Tottenham until the end of the season?

Tudor is already up against things in the short term, and a bad result away at Liverpool next Sunday could spell the end of his short-lived and frankly disastrous tenure.

Sheringham is a legend when it comes to the Premier League era at Tottenham, and he believes Spurs will be playing EFL football.

Teddy Sheringham tells Igor Tudor what he must fix

Sheringham was invited on TalkSPORT last week to discuss the situation at Tottenham and it’s fair to say that he’s concerned for his former club.

The former striker thinks Tudor has got it all to do in order to convince fans of his ability to lead the team and feels he’s already making pretty fatal mistakes.

When asked if Spurs would stay up, he said: “If they keep this manager in charge, then yes.

“I’ve got to be honest and when I heard the appointment first of all, it was like who what, where have they pulled him from? So, I don’t know who’s uh pulled the trigger on that one, but for me, he’s learning on the job. I said that he doesn’t know enough about the Premier League. He doesn’t know enough about his players at Tottenham. He doesn’t know where to play him. You only have to look at the players that you look at the back five that he played last night, every one of them was slightly out of position. And if you’ve played football, you understand what I’m talking about.

“If someone asks you to be 20 yards different on a football pitch, it’s uncanny to you; it doesn’t feel right.

“You’ve got you got Danso playing as a sweeper. You got Porro playing as a right centre half. You’ve got Van de Ven playing as a left centre half. That none of them are in the right position. You got Souza playing, making his home debut, and he’s playing as a wing-back rather than a fullback. You know, last week, Gallagher was playing out on the right wing. It’s all wrong for me.”

The next few games should make or break Tottenham this season and anything gained at Liverpool would have to be deemed a positive result.

After that, it’s Forest at home and if that ends in defeat, Spurs will be staring down the barrel of an unprecedented Premier League relegation.

Following that, Spurs will face Sunderland and Brighton and with both of those teams not having much left to play for this season, they will be viewed as winnable by Tottenham.

Sheringham is right. Tottenham have to start winning and if they don’t, the EFL looks like a real possibility for next season.
