Capping off a sublime night in west London, Mathys put the icing on the cake late on as we claimed a 2-0 win over Chelsea on their own turf.
Putting in a dominant performance against the Blues, we got ourselves deservedly ahead with 20 minutes to play as Chelsea goalkeeper Mike Penders punched the ball into his own net before the Blues were reduced to 10 men as Cole Palmer saw red.
From there, our confidence just continued to grow and that showed in Mathys' goal.
Getting off the mark for the season following a stand out pre-season, the forward recovered the ball inside his own half before running 40 yards with it and burying it into the corner of the net.
It was a stunning goal that really summed up the occasion and our performance at the Bridge.
