Tottenham Hotspur signed Joao Palhinha on loan from Bayern Munich at the start of the season.
The Portuguese International has been outstanding since moving to the North London club. He has established himself as one of the best players at the club, and Tottenham have an option to make the move permanent at the end of the season.

Frank said (h/t CaughtOffside): “I think we are very happy with Joao right now in every aspect. Whatever happens in the summer, we will see in the summer. Right now, I am three months into my time here, and we’re building something, and I’m very happy with Joao.”
Spurs must sign Palhinha
Judging by his happiness with the way the midfielder has performed, it is fair to assume that the move will be made permanent eventually. The Portuguese international is an important player for Tottenham, and they can afford to lose them.
They needed more defensive steel and physicality in the middle of the park, and the Portuguese International has added just that. He has scored some important goals for the team as well. It will be interesting to see if he can continue to improve and establish himself as one of the best midfielders in the league.
He does not have a future at Bayern Munich, and returning to the German club will not make any sense for him. It would be ideal for him to join permanently. He will certainly hope to continue impressing over the next few months, so that the London club decide to make the move permanent.
