Tottenham Hotspur have their eye on a winger who is currently at the Club World Cup, but they may have to battle a whole host of clubs, including their North London rivals, Arsenal, to land the player.
It has been widely reported that Thomas Frank’s top priority is to strengthen Tottenham’s attack this summer, which makes perfect sense considering that Heung-min Son’s future at Spurs is now shrouded in doubt.
It emerged earlier his month that Tottenham had expressed an interest in RB Leipzig winger Dorgeles Nene, who has found the back of the net 15 times and provided nine assists across 2024-25.
The report claimed that Salzburg are expected to demand around €20m (£16.8m) to €25m (£21m) for the 22-year-old attacker.
Tottenham face intense competition for Dorgeles Nene
A new report in Africa Foot has confirmed that the Lilywhites have their eye on the winger, but they are not alone in their admiration for the Salzburg man.
Nene, who is currently with the Austrian Bundesliga side at the ongoing Club World Cup, is also thought to be on the radar of Arsenal.
Additionally, the Mali international, whose current deal at Salzburg runs until 2028, is also being eyed by Paris Saint-Germain, Bayer Leverkusen, Galatasaray and Club Brugge.
MORE SPURS STORIES
It thus appears that Spurs have their work cut out if they are to win the race for the 22-year-old’s signature.
Africa Foot even reached out to the Malian for comment about his future amidst the ongoing speculation about a potential summer transfer.
The winger seemed to admit that several clubs are interested in his services and refused to rule out a possible summer transfer.
Nene told the outlet: “I’m coming off an interesting season, and that’s bound to attract the interest of other clubs. But for now, I’m staying focused on the competition with my club since I’m still under contract.
“So, I’m letting my agents take care of my contractual situation, but I’m not closing any doors.”
