Tottenham Hotspur are now set for their Premier League opener against Burnley, and their matchday one officials have been named.

Football as we know it is well and truly back this week, and for Tottenham Hotspur supporters, they will see their side play two competitive matches in the space of just four days.

Spurs’ 2025/26 campaign officially began with the UEFA Super Cup final in Udine, where they lost on penalties to PSG.

Now, the Lilywhites turn their attention to Premier League action, kicking off their domestic campaign against newly-promoted Burnley.

Thomas Frank will be eager to get life as Tottenham boss off to a flying start with victories in both the Super Cup and the league opener.

With the Premier League season starting on Friday, 15 August, the match officials for each fixture have now been revealed on the official Premier League website.

For Tottenham’s meeting with Burnley, it has been revealed that Michael Oliver will take charge. The English referee will be assisted by Stuart Burt and James Mainwaring, with Adam Herczeg named as the fourth official. Meanwhile, VAR duties will be handled by Neil Davies, assisted by John Brooks.

Tottenham’s opening match will kick off at 3pm UK time at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, with the home crowd set to provide a lively atmosphere.

The Lilywhites boast a strong record against Burnley, winning 12 of their 18 Premier League meetings with the Clarets.

It is a trend that Frank will be eager to continue as the Spurs aim to improve on last season’s disappointing 17th-place finish.
