Tottenham Hotspur have entered the race to sign Paris Saint-Germain star Ibrahim Mbaye this summer to bolster their attack, according to Santi Aouna.

The Lilywhites have added six first-team stars to their squad this summer already, signing Andy Robertson, Martin Dubravka, Marcos Senesi, Jan Paul van Hecke, Mateus Fernandes, and Sandro Tonali, as they look to recover from consecutive 17th-placed finishes in the Premier League.

But the club are also keen to add to their forward options this summer, and the club have now joined the hunt for a highly-rated European champion.

Tottenham Eyeing Mbaye Deal

Mbaye, who has been described as a 'phenomenon', is expected to leave PSG this summer in the search of more regular first-team football, despite winning back-to-back Champions League titles and Ligue 1 titles.

After falling behind all of Ousmane Dembele, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, Desire Doue, Bradley Barcola, Lee Kang-In, and Goncalo Ramos in the pecking order, the Senegal international has made it clear that he wants to leave the Parisians this summer.

A number of clubs are understood to be keen to strike a deal for the 18-year-old winger, and Tottenham are among the clubs showing the strongest interest.

PSG are open to allowing the youngster to leave for the right price, and Spurs are keen to add tricky, fast forwards to the squad to complement their new rebuild.

No fees have been touted at this stage, but the situation is one to keep an eye on, with an exit almost certainly on the cards, and Spurs having plenty of cash to splash in the window.

Tottenham Move for Mbaye a Gamble

De Zerbi knows how to get the best out of his winger options, and Mbaye is a rough diamond who is ready to be moulded into a superstar.

But all of Tottenham's transfer business this summer, including the sale of Luka Vuskovic, points to wanting to be successful immediately, and Mbaye's arrival is more of a project signing.

It's possible that they are looking at him for the long-term rather than immediate, but he may not be open to that, and it will be interesting to see how this move develops in the coming weeks.
