Tottenham have to address their problems in the forward line.

Tottenham Hotspur are closing in on the signings of Marcos Senesi and Andy Robertson, with both deals now agreed in principle. The double swoop could be viewed as a massive early statement ahead of what is expected to be a transformative summer window under head coach Roberto De Zerbi.

The N17 chiefs must also address the team’s glaring problems in attack. Richarlison, Mathys Tel, Dominic Solanke and Randal Kolo Muani scored only 18 Premier League goals between them. De Zerbi saw him enough from the misfiring forward line across his seven games in charge to know that wholesale changes will be required.

Richarlison ended the season as Tottenham’s top scorer with 12 goals in all competitions. Well, it is not a secret that the Brazilian has had several injury setbacks in his N17 career, leading to chronic levels of inconsistency. And with him about to enter the final year of his contract, the North London club may look to cash him in rather than losing the forward for free in 2027.

Tottenham identify Santiago Gimenez as Richarlison replacement

According to a report from the Daily Mirror, Tottenham have identified AC Milan striker Santiago Gimenez as Richarlison’s replacement.

Santiago Gimenez enjoyed three prolific seasons with Feyenoord, which led to a move to AC Milan in the summer of 2025. He arrived at San Siro with a lot of fanfare, hoping to solve the team’s goalscoring problems. However, the Mexican international endured a forgettable debut season in Serie A football.

An injury-ravaged campaign limited Gimenez to only 18 appearances in all competitions, where he only managed a goal. He went the entire league season without a goal, yet Spurs have set their sights on the 25-year-old to bolster their forward line. The Tottenham bosses are not judging him by one disastrous season in Milan; instead, they are looking back at his goalscoring exploits in Feyenoord colours in the Eredivisie and have decided to pursue his signature.

Indeed, Gimenez was among the ruthless goalscorers during his three years with the Rotterdam-based outfit, netting 65 times in 105 appearances. At 25, the Mexican will soon be entering the prime stages of his career, and if De Zerbi feels he’d fit well in his system, then Tottenham must up their ante.
