Tottenham Hotspur are interested in a player who came against them in the Champions League recently, but they have competition to contend with from another Premier League giant.

Spurs’ pursuit of Andy Robertson fell through last week, after the Lilywhites thought they had secured the left-back.

While reports indicate that a move to Tottenham is still a possibility for the Liverpool legend before Monday’s transfer deadline, there is now little indication that a deal is progressing.

The North Londoners may be tempted to turn to an alternative, and one left-back who has been on Spurs’ radar is Eintracht Frankfurt’s Nathaniel Brown.

The Lilywhites got an opportunity to see the 22-year-old first-hand during their 2-0 win at Deutsche Bank Park, with Brown playing 72 minutes.

TEAMtalk have now confirmed that Tottenham Hotspur remain interested in the Frankfurt man, but they reveal that the Lilywhites now have competition to contend with.

The German international has previously been on Man City’s and Arsenal’s radar, but it is Man United who are now stepping up their interest in the player.

The report claims that United have conducted detailed checks on Brown as they attempt to add a left-back to their squad.

The young defender is tied to Frankfurt until 2030, which means that the Bundesliga club are not under pressure to sell.

It is revealed that sources close to the German club only expect Brown to leave Deutsche Bank Park in the summer rather than before Monday’s deadline.
