Luka Vuskovic has impressed Tottenham fans since he arrived in North London.

Spurs completed the signing of the teenager in 2023, with the defender spending the last two years on loan first at Radomiak, before joining KVC Westerlo last season.

A third loan spell for Vuskovic is now being weighed up, with the 18-year-old attracting plenty of interest from clubs throughout Europe.

But Thomas Frank may yet decide to retain the youngster within his squad, and a final decision is expected in the coming weeks.

Spurs fans share Vuskovic wish

Vuskovic’s debut came in Spurs’ first pre-season match against Reading last week.

MORE SPURS STORIES

The Croatian’s first minutes came in the second half, and he instantly stunned the onlooking fans by heading a flick-on into the path of Will Lankshear, to claim an early assist.

But the defender’s impact would not stop there. Just moments later, he ran onto a cut-back delivered by Mohammed Kudus, needing only one touch to drive the ball into the corner and beyond the reach of the Reading goalkeeper.

Needless to say, the performance spread massive excitement throughout the Spurs fanbase and prompted claims that the defender should remain a part of Frank’s squad for the upcoming season.

But according to Mail Sport (25 July), Vuskovic may well be loaned out after all, with several Bundesliga clubs showing their interest as Frank weighs up his options.

Spurs fans have reacted to the news in their numbers, with the majority feeling Vuskovic should stay in North London and one arguing that the club should loan out Kota Takai instead.

Vuskovic deserves a chance

While it would be an unpopular decision, it is easy to see why Spurs are considering loaning out Vuskovic.

The Croatian would certainly have Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven in front of him in the pecking order, and would, in all likelihood, have Kevin Danso, Radu Dragusin, and possibly Ben Davies, trusted before him too.

And with Spurs’ participation in the UEFA Champions League, Vuskovic’s minutes may be limited to the FA Cup and the League Cup, with rotation less palatable in Europe’s top competition.

However, the 18-year-old may well relish the chance to compete against his elders and could benefit massively from a year among the Spurs camp – even without regular game time.
