Tottenham Hotspur are set to seal a transfer for Crystal Palace attacker Eberechi Eze after offering £60 million over the weekend, according to the Sun.

However, the 27-year-old is unlikely to join the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium club before Palace play Fredrikstad in the first leg of the Europa Conference League play-off on Thursday.

Eze wants to join Spurs, and the Eagles will not stand in his way, but the speed with which the deal will happen will depend on their assurance of quickly signing a replacement.

The Selhurst Park club are reportedly demanding more of the transfer fee up front, and it is unclear if the £60m bid Tottenham brought to the table is for a total package.

Eze previously had a £60m release clause, with a further £8m in add-ons, but it has now expired and Palace will determine the fee they want.

Spurs consultant Fabio Paratici was at Stamford Bridge yesterday when Chelsea hosted the Eagles in the Premier League.

Talks over Eze joining the club were held, and an agreement appears to be on the cards.

However, Tottenham may need to wait until next weekend for the move to be finalised as Palace want the Englishman to feature in the crucial Europa Conference League game.

The Lilywhites kicked off the new campaign with an outstanding 3-0 win over Burnley on Saturday. They will be looking to win again when they visit Manchester City next Saturday.

Eze will not be available for the game from the look of things, but Spurs manager Thomas Frank will not mind as long as he eventually completes the move.
