Tottenham Hotspur are monitoring Bournemouth forward Antoine Semenyo ahead of the winter transfer window, according to Sky Sports.

Spurs wanted to sign the 25-year-old Ghana international last summer, but snapped up Mohammed Kudus instead.

Semenyo has since signed a new five-year deal with the Cherries, but Spurs are looking to sign another forward in January.

He bagged 13 goals and seven assists in 42 appearances last season and has added six goals and three assists in 11 Premier League games this term.

Spurs are not the only club keen on securing his services. Liverpool and Manchester City are also monitoring his situation.

He is expected to leave the Cherries, but luring him away halfway through the season could prove tricky as the club have started the season on a solid note under manager Andoni Iraola.

Tottenham and other suitors may need to wait until the summer to have a realistic chance of signing him.

However, nothing can be ruled out as Ghana’s failure to qualify for the Africa Cup of Nations makes Semenyo more attractive to interested clubs.

Spurs are aiming for a top-five finish in the Premier League and are eyeing more major silverware this term after winning the Europa League last season.

They need to strengthen their squad to boost their chances, and signing Semenyo would be a step in the right direction.
