Things went as planned for Tottenham Hotspur at the bottom of the Premier League table on Saturday, with Burnley, West Ham United and Leeds United all losing.
It means Spurs can open up a seven-point gap between themselves and the bottom three, and also leapfrog Leeds into 15th place, with a win over London rivals Fulham on Sunday afternoon.
That is going to be no mean feat for the Lilywhites, however. Spurs have not won in any of their last four meetings with Marco Silva's side and they are yet to win a single Premier League game in 2026 either.
The match in west London will be Croatian interim head coach Igor Tudor's second in charge, after the dismal showing in the North London Derby last weekend.
Given Arsenal's form and position at the top of the table, the game with Fulham will be more of a barometer of where Tudor is in his short journey with the Tottenham players, particularly given he has had an extra week's work with them on the training ground too.
Not only that, but Spurs will be bolstered by two players returning from injury to be a part of the squad, with defenders Pedro Porro and Kevin Danso both set to return, to ease Spurs' injury list.
But there are concerns over one other player ahead of the game with Fulham - stand-in captain Micky van de Ven.
Micky van de Ven injury situation
Tottenham could do without losing van de Ven at the back, given Cristian Romero is still absent due to suspension. The Dutchman wears the armband in the Argentinian's absence and is a key player in the backline.
Spurs supporters will be hoping he is available for selection, but there was a worry during Tudor's press conference on Thursday when he talked about the squad for the upcoming match.
When discussing returning players, the head coach said: "It's a small problem for Micky with his little toe, but he’s okay. He will be [in the squad]."
'In the squad' brings with it its own concerns. There were no guarantees from Tudor that van de Ven will start the crucial match and Spurs really need him to.
Spurs missing nine players at Fulham
As well as the aforementioned Romero above, Spurs will be without another eight players for the game with Fulham.
Destiny Udogie could be the next one back with former boss Thomas Frank's "four to five weeks" date likely to see the left-back return ahead of the game with Liverpool on March 15 - Romero's first game back after suspension.
Fans will be hoping to see favourite Lucas Bergvall back in action soon and now we are in March it should not be too much longer. After the international break at the end of the month is the likely date for his return to action. Reports in Sweden have said that his rehabilitation is 'going in the right direction'. That date is likely to be the same for Mohammed Kudus too.
Ben Davies, Rodrigo Bentancur, James Maddison and Dejan Kulusevski are either out for the season or not due back until very late in the campaign, although Tudro did offer a cryptic update on Kulusevski in his press conference too.
"Fantastic player, fantastic guy," Tudor said on the Swede. "Difficult moment. He's had really big problems, as you know, here. But he's positive. And also the doctors are positive. So we'll see, next week, how it's going."
