Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly interested in signing the Club Brugge midfielder Aleksandar Stankovic.

The 20-year-old has attracted the attention of multiple clubs with his performances, and a report from Tuttosport claims that Tottenham and Newcastle are keen on the player.

Inter Milan plan for Aleksandar Stankovic

Inter Milan sold the player to the Belgian club last summer, but they have a buyback option inserted into his contract.

The report claims that the Italian club could look to bring him back to the club at the end of this season and sell him to Tottenham for a profit. It will be interesting to see how the situation develops. The Italian outfit have an option to sign him for €23 million at the end of this season, and €25 million at the end of the 2026-27 season.

It remains to be seen whether they take out the opportunity to bring him back to the club and make a quick profit on him.

Stankovic could be a future asset

The 20-year-old is the son of Inter Milan legend Dejan Stankovic. There is no doubt that he is a tremendous talent with a bright future, but the Italian outfit will not be able to provide him with regular opportunities. It does not make sense for them to sign him and keep him at the club.

The midfielder will need regular opportunities to develop. He can operate as a defensive midfielder as well as a central defender. He could be the ideal acquisition for Spurs. They need more quality and depth in that area of the pitch.

The opportunity to move to the Premier League will be exciting for him, and he will get to test himself alongside top-class players at the London club. It remains to be seen how the situation unfolds.
