Tottenham have decided that they will allow one first-team star to leave the club this summer, regardless of whether they are relegated or stay in the Premier League, according to TEAMtalk.
The north London club have had a season to forget so far, and currently sit just one point above the relegation zone with seven games remaining, and are currently searching for someone to replace interim boss Igor Tudor to try and change their fortunes around.
But despite the uncertainty surrounding their status in the top-flight, Spurs are already making plans for the summer transfer window for things they can control, and that includes allowing people to leave.
Tottenham Make Yves Bissouma Decision
Several first-team stars are expected to attract major interest in the upcoming transfer window, with the club set to be without European football entirely next season.
The club are desperate to keep much of the squad together despite that, and especially if they are able to avoid relegation, but they have now made a decision on the future of controversial midfielder Yves Bissouma.
The Mali international, described as 'ridiculous', has had a torrid season individually, with limited appearances in the first team following a string of off-field issues, including being dropped for being late under Thomas Frank.
The 29-year-old is out of contract in north London at the end of the season, but the Lilywhites hold the option to extend his deal by a further 12 months to retain his value in the market. However, a decision has now been made that they won't trigger that option, and will instead allow him to leave on a free transfer after four relatively disappointing years at the club.
Clubs in France, Turkey, USA, and Saudi Arabia have all shown an interest in the former Brighton star, but previous Premier League interest has faded.
Bissouma is Easily Replaceable
When Bissouma arrived, it was expected that he could take his career to the next level, and also help Spurs to improve. But he struggled massively to make the step up, and a move away now seems to suit all parties.
But for Tottenham, replacing him is unlikely to be a major issue. The club already have the likes of Lucas Bergvall and Archie Gray making an impact despite their age, while Rodrigo Bentancur, Pape Matar Sarr and young Callum Olusesi are also around. Then the club still have a decision to make on loanee Joao Palhinha.
