Tottenham have again been linked with Bournemouth forward Eli Junior Kroupi, with a new French report placing Spurs alongside Arsenal and Barcelona in speculation about a possible January move.

Top Mercato draws on reporting from Fichajes and once again links Kroupi as a player attracting attention ahead of the winter transfer window while the striker recovers from a pre-season injury.

Kroupi was heavily linked with a move to North London during the summer, with Spurs believed to have had the French youth international top of their attacking shortlist; however, an injury stopped those links and ultimately his pre-season.

Reports of admiration have continued since the summer, with monitoring and negotiations yet to start, as De Zerbi looks to secure his first Premier League win of the season. These links are understandable given Spurs lack of goals early on.

In Kroupi's case, interested clubs would want to see whether he regains his best level before committing to a mid-season transfer, given January is notoriously a difficult time for transfers and certainly at the size this would be.

January can make a transfer more difficult. Supporters understandably want a winter arrival to contribute quickly, particularly when the team needs improvement in front of goal. Yet a long-term recruitment choice should still be based on the player's current fitness level and whether they can come in and make an immediate impact.

Injury recovery adds another layer of uncertainty.

A return to competitive football would allow clubs to evaluate movement, match sharpness and consistency across appearances. One encouraging performance could generate headlines, but a broader body of evidence would provide a firmer basis for a decision.

There is also the question of whether Bournemouth would entertain a sale. Naming several interested clubs does not establish that the player is available or that any proposed terms would be acceptable.

For RoundTable readers, the story therefore offers a discussion of recruitment rather than a confirmed transfer development.

Would another emerging attacker be the right priority for Tottenham? What role would offer him meaningful opportunities? And how much evidence should the club require following an injury before considering a substantial commitment?

Kroupi is a name to watch as January approaches; Tottenham will likely need to improve in attack, or will they stick with returning players rather than spend big in January?

Eli Junior Kroupi developed through Lorient's academy and made his senior debut in 2023. Bournemouth signed him in February 2025, but he remained on loan at Lorient, where his 22 league goals helped secure promotion as champions. He subsequently moved to England, continuing his development as a versatile forward in Bournemouth's attack.
