Tottenham Hotspur are in the running for Manchester City star, Savinho, and have been handed a major boost despite interest also coming from AC Milan this summer
Tottenham Hotspur are leading the race to sign Savinho from Manchester City, as a summer of big spending rolls on.
Determined to avoid a repeat of last season's 17th place Premier League finish, ENIC are pulling out all of the stops to provide Roberto De Zerbi with all of the tools necessary to thrive in the English top flight and challenge domestically.
That ultimately includes a sizeable transfer kitty, which has already been utilised en-masse. While Andy Robertson, Marcos Senesi and Martin Dubravka arrived as free agents after their respective departures from Liverpool, Bournemouth and Burnley, the acquisition of Jan Paul van Hecke from Brighton set the Lilywhites back £52million.
Spurs also broke the bank to bring in midfield reinforcement, spending £100m to bring in Sandro Tonali from Newcastle United, and a further £85m to pry Mateus Fernandes away from a relegation-blighted West Ham United.
Having already spent in excess of £200m in transfer fees, and millions more on player wages, Spurs are now turning their attention to their attacking line - Savinho thought to be priority No. 1.
The 22-year-old has failed to break the mould at the Etihad Stadium since his arrival from Troyes in 2024, scoring just seven goals and providing 16 assists in 84 appearances across all competitions.
And as a result, the Brazilian is being tipped for a move away from Greater Manchester ahead of the fresh season.

While Ruben Amorim is thought to be monitoring Savinho's situation, with hopes of bringing him to AC Milan, it's De Zerbi's Tottenham Hotspur who are thought to be leading the race for his signature.
According to the Sun, negotiations for Savinho on Spurs' part are 'well advanced,' with De Zerbi admiring his pace and direct style of play.
While no formal bid has been made as of yet, it is thought that City will command around £65m for Savinho, who is under contract until 2031.
However, a sale could be subject to City securing reinforcement on their flank prior.
Ibrahim Mbaye and Yan Diomande have been highlighted as potential targets for the Sky Blues, but nothing concrete is in place just yet - amid a wealth of stiff competition for both.
