Tottenham Hotspur have made an enquiry over a late-window deal to sign Real Madrid star Brahim Diaz following his return from AFCON, according to TEAMtalk.

The Morocco international will be the one name remembered by everyone in relation to this tournament, with his missed Panenka penalty in the final costing his nation the win, before Senegal went on to score the decisive goal in extra time instead.

Despite that major setback, the 26-year-old was one of the standout players at AFCON, but he has found first-team opportunities hard to come by under Alvaro Arbeloa since returning to the Bernabeu earlier this month.

Now, Tottenham are among a number of clubs to make contact about the playmaker's situation.

Diaz's Situation at Real Unlikely to Change

According to TEAMtalk, following the exit of Xabi Alonso, Diaz has fallen out of favour with the Spanish giants.

Sources close to the 'superstar' are said to believe that they don't see a change in his situation - in the short term at least - and as a result his representatives have begun to explore potential opportunities, reaching out to clubs across Europe.

Serie A side Como, managed by Cesc Fabregas, are one of the teams who have been contacted, with the Italian club seeing Diaz as a potential replacement for Nico Paz, who is expected to return to Real at the end of the season.

According to the report, Tottenham are one of three Premier League clubs spoken to about a potential mid-season switch. Diaz's camp are keen to gauge English interest, with Newcastle United and Aston Villa the other clubs contacted.

While Real are currently reluctant to lose Diaz before next Monday's deadline, TEAMtalk claim that sources in Spain have said 'nothing is impossible' when it comes to a potential exit in the next few days.

As well as the latest interest in Diaz, who 'can become the best in the world' according to Morocco manager Walid Regragui, Tottenham are also said to have made contact over signing two more wingers as the minutes tick down in the transfer window.

Firstly, Spurs are said to be looking at a late hijack of Inter Milan's move for Moussa Diaby of Al-Ittihad, after securing their top eight finish in the Champions League.

The former Aston Villa attacker is currently earning £250,000-a-week in the Saudi Pro League, as he eyes a move back to the European elite.

Meanwhile, Tottenham have also made a late enquiry for Bayern Munich's Serge Gnabry, who earns £330,000-a-week with the Bundesliga giants.

The Germany international is 30 and, of course, used to play for Arsenal, but reports in Germany suggest that Bayern are keen to tie him down to a new contract at the Allianz Arena.
