Tottenham Hotspur manager Roberto De Zerbi has made up his mind on whether or not he will let Conor Gallagher leave, amid interest from Daniel Farke’s Leeds United.

On October 31, Fussball News reported that Leeds are among the clubs interested in signing Gallagher.

The report claimed that, along with Aston Villa and Everton, Leeds are ‘looking for ways to strengthen their midfield and see Gallagher as an interesting candidate for the January transfer window’.

On November 6, Football Insider journalist Callum O’Connell also reported Leeds’s interest in Gallagher.

O’Connell said: “It is interesting to see the clubs who have been linked with Conor Gallagher if he is allowed to leave Tottenham.

“I’ve heard Leeds and Everton both mentioned in the last couple of weeks, and I know that Crystal Palace are obviously long term admirers of him as well.

“I think probably still it would be fair to say that he played his best football during that loan spell at Palace from Chelsea a couple of years ago.

“They wanted to sign him before he made that move to Tottenham, so it would surprise me if that interest has gone away, because he is very highly thought of there.

“So it’ll be interesting to see if any of those clubs do try and tempt him away. But like you said, it is a bit of a surprise because he does definitely seem to still have a role at Tottenham.”

Gallagher has been on the books of Tottenham since January 2026, when he joined from Atletico Madrid for £34million.

The 26-year-old English midfielder, who is under contract at Tottenham until 2031, has scored three goals and given one assist in 27 matches in all competitions for the north London club so far in his career.

Gallagher has not been able to establish himself in the Tottenham starting line-up under manager De Zerbi so far this season.

The former Chelsea and Atletico star has made only three starts in the Premier League for Spurs this campaign.

Roberto De Zerbi wants Conor Gallagher stay at Tottenham

However, according to Football Insider, Tottenham manager De Zerbi has no plans whatsoever to offload Gallagher in the middle of the season.

The report, written by transfer journalist Pete O’Rourke, has claimed that De Zerbi views Gallagher “as a valuable asset and will not allow him to leave Tottenham”.

O’Rourke, who has over 174,000 followers on X, has added: “I don’t see it at all really, Gallagher does get used quite often by Roberto De Zerbi.

“It’s only been around 12 months since he joined Tottenham from Atletico Madrid in that big-money move when he came into a struggling team when they were battling relegation.

“He has still got a big role to play at Tottenham, he’s under contract until 2031, and Roberto De Zerbi doesn’t want to lose somebody like Conor Gallagher as well.

“He’s such a versatile player and such a whole-hearted and committed player, and he still has a big role to play in this Tottenham side.”
