Tottenham Hotspur are about to taste defeat in their pursuit of an Italian defender, with a London rival now poised to clinch a deal for the player at the start of the summer transfer window.

Some reports over recent days have suggested that Pedro Porro is of interest to a number of top clubs around Europe ahead of the summer transfer window.

It has even been alleged over recent days that Tottenham are open to cashing in on Porro for the right fee, given that the North London club have to sell some of their assets this summer in order to push ahead with a move for their transfer targets.

If the Spaniard does depart N17, one would expect the Lilywhites to be on the lookout for a replacement, and it has now emerged that a right-back who Spurs had identified as a target is about to join a Premier League rival.

Tottenham target expected to complete move to Brentford

This update comes from TBR Football, who claim that Tottenham are fans of Michael Kayode, who has spent the second half of the season on loan at Brentford from Fiorentina.

The outlet explains that Tottenham were tracking Kayode even before he made the switch to the Gtech Community Stadium.

Kayode’s spell in West London did not get off to the best of starts due to the 20-year-old’s injury problems. However, the Italy Under-21 international is having a strong end to the season, and the Bees are now expected to activate the £14m option to buy him.

The publication adds that this not only comes as a blow to Tottenham Hotspur, but also to the likes of Chelsea, Manchester City and Aston Villa, who were all keeping tabs on Kayode.

Tottenham are battling Barcelona for Brazilian right-back

This update comes just a couple of days after it emerged that Spurs had set their sights on a Ligue 1 right-back.

Earlier this week, it was claimed by Brazilian outlet UOL that Tottenham and Barcelona look set to battle it out for Monaco’s Vanderson, who is expected to be in the shop window this summer.
