Yves Bissouma could finally be about to leave Tottenham in the January transfer window.
The midfielder has been heavily linked with an exit for the last few months, and he showed a desire to remain in the Premier League during the summer transfer window.
Tottenham almost sold Bissouma to Galatasaray on deadline day, but a deal fell through in the final stages before the cut-off.
The Mali international has been firmly cut away from Thomas Frank’s plans in the early stages of the season, and it has become clear that he has no future in N17.
AC Milan evaluating cut-price move for Yves Bissouma
Bissouma hasn’t featured for Spurs in competitive action since Frank was appointed in the summer, and it feels inevitable that his long-term future will lie away from North London.
MORE SPURS STORIES
The 29-year-old’s contract is due to expire at the end of the current campaign, but there could be a desire for the Lilywhites to try and sell him in the January window if the opportunity presents itself.
It has now emerged that AC Milan are evaluating a potential move for the former Brighton star this winter, according to Italian outlet Calcio Mercato.
It is understood that the midfielder is valued in the region of £17-21million, but that could be set to drop as Spurs try and offload him in the January window.
Bissouma was linked with a move to Serie A with the likes of Juventus in the summer, and although nothing materialised on that occasion, it could be a different story this time around.
Tottenham don’t need Yves Bissouma at all
Bissouma’s lack of football at Tottenham has been one of the most noticeable aspects of Frank’s management since he took the reins.
He let himself down with his discipline ahead of the UEFA Super Cup final, and it is already clear that the new boss views him a long way below the quartet of Joao Palhinha, Rodrigo Bentancur, Lucas Bergvall and Pape Sarr that he has rotated in the middle of the park.
With that in mind, it is surely in the player’s interest to try and facilitate a move for himself, rather than spending the entire campaign without kicking a ball.
If Bissouma can reach an agreement with another club to move on in January, then Spurs surely wouldn’t stand in his way.
