Thomas Frank is braced for a busy summer at Tottenham with changes expected behind the scenes as well as in the first team.

The Danish manager’s impressive performance at Brentford earned him the Spurs job and the onus is now on him to deliver in North London.

Thus far, he’s roped in three coaches with him from Brentford, Justin Cochrane, Chris Haslam and Joe Newton, with Andreas Georgson joining from Manchester United.

Claus Norgaard could join Spurs as Brentford announce his exit

Before Spurs made an announcement, it was expected that Claus Norgaard could join Frank from Brentford.

He was his assistant manager at the G-Tech Community Stadium and the duo shared a good working relationship.

MORE SPURS STORIES

Frank and Norgaard first began working together back in 2013 when Norgaard joined as Brondby’s assistant.

He then left to take over coaching roles with the Denmark youth sides before reuniting with Frank at Brentford.

Now with the Bees confirming he’s left, it could pave the way for him to move to Spurs.

Tottenham must continue to let Frank call the shots

Frank should be given full control at Tottenham to build the team in his image, as his proven tactical acumen and Brentford’s overachievement demand trust.

His data-driven system requires specific players and coaches aligned with his philosophy, like Brentford’s versatile wingers and set-piece specialists.

Daniel Levy’s historical reluctance to back managers has stifled Spurs’ progress, leaving them trophyless since 2008, until the recent Europa League triumph, and fans are frustrated.

Levy’s interference, such as prioritising commercial signings over tactical fits, has led to disjointed squads and fan backlash, with protests against his leadership in recent years.

Backing Frank with recruitment authority, including targets and his preferred coaching staff, would ensure cohesion and maximise his ability to replicate Brentford’s success.
