Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly also parted ways with chief football officer Scott Munn following their decision to sack Ange Postecoglou.

The club announced on Friday (June 6) that Postecoglou was "relieved of his duties" as manager despite guiding Spurs to the Europa League last month. He became only their third coach in history to win a European trophy, alongside the legendary pair of Bill Nicholson and Keith Burkinshaw.

There are expected to be numerous changes made by Daniel Levy following Postecoglou's sacking, including those to the backroom staff. This is the same at board level, following a season in which the Lilywhites finished 17th in the Premier League table despite their European triumph.

Munn Joins Postecoglou In Leaving Spurs

The club had long courted the Australian

Munn arrived at Tottenham in April 2023, having previously worked as the chief executive of City Football Group (CFG) China. The 51-year-old worked closely with Levy and oversaw the club's footballing departments, including the academy and women's team.

The Australian explained just last year that his job was to "look after everything that’s to do with football operations". That's no longer the case, according to The Sun's Tom Barclay, who wrote on his X account:

"Understand Chief Football Officer Scott Munn has been shown the door as well at Spurs."

Munn's departure is another significant development in the fallout of Postecoglou's dismissal. It suggests Levy wants a complete reset of the club from top to bottom, including those working in the hierarchy who were behind his appointment.

The Australian spoke in early 2024 about wanting to repay Levy's faith in him (via football.london):

"I feel absolutely privileged to work with him and the support he gives to me and the entire football team is unconditional. I just hope we're able to repay the faith he's put in us."

There has been a particular focus on youth in recent transfer windows, and an injury crisis saw Postecoglou turn to several academy graduates. Archie Gray and Lucas Bergvall, both 18, arrived last summer, while Mikey Moore, 16, and Dane Scarlett, 21, made the step-up to the senior team.

This youth-driven recruitment policy could now change with Levy undoubtedly keen to have a squad that boasts both experience and potential. His search for a new manager has seen Brentford's Thomas Frank, Newcastle United's Eddie Howe and Fulham's Marco Silva linked.

A new chief football officer may also be on the agenda unless the club moves in a different direction. Levy seemingly has an unhappy camp of players over sacking Postecoglou, so he may need to get them back on board.
