Journalist Graeme Bailey has shed light on the feeling at Tottenham Hotspur surrounding their pursuit of Eberechi Eze as the speculation linking the attacking midfielder with a switch to N17 intensifies.

Most Spurs fans have been constantly refreshing their social media feeds for the last 24 hours, amidst the speculation over the Crystal Palace star’s future.

According to various reports, Eze is inching closer to Tottenham, with talks between the North London club and the Eagles currently ongoing.

Fabrizio Romano revealed on Saturday that Eze has already agreed personal terms with Spurs, and has made it clear to Crystal Palace that he wants to move to N17.

What is the feeling at Tottenham about their Eberechi Eze pursuit?

Journalist Greame Bailey explained that Oliver Glasner’s men were originally hoping to cash in on Marc Guehi and keep Eze, but it is the former QPR man who is now closer to an exit.

He added that sources at Tottenham are confident that they will clinch a deal for the attacking midfielder.

Bailey told TBR Football: “Talks are ongoing – Palace in an ideal world would like to sell Marc Guehi and keep Eberechi Eze now his release clause has expired, but that does not appear to be happening – indeed the opposite with Guehi staying and Eze going.

“We understand that Eze has made it clear to Palace that he would like to make the move to Spurs, and he is now focused on making that switch before the window closes.

“Speaking to Spurs sources – they are confident they get Eze done. In terms of Savinho, maybe less so, but talks are ongoing with that too.”

Thomas Frank and a senior Spurs figure are driving the Eze pursuit

It emerged last week that Tottenham assistant coach Justin Cochrane has a very close relationship with Eze, with the pair having worked together in the England set-up.

Journalist Ben Jacobs revealed a couple of days ago that Frank and Cochraine are the main driving forces behind Tottenham’s pursuit of Eze.
