Tottenham Hotspur would surely have former Newcastle United manager Eddie Howe on their list if they were to sack Roberto De Zerbi.
That is the opinion of former senior Tottenham scout, Bryan King, speaking exclusively to Football Insider.
The 47-year-old is under huge pressure in North London after his side failed to win any of their opening five Premier League games.
Tottenham go into the international break at the bottom of the league, after they were beaten 3-2 by Aston Villa on Saturday.
De Zerbi is under contract until 2031 at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, having taken over from Igor Tudor in March and managing to keep his team in the top flight.
Tottenham backed the Italian with over £400million in new arrivals in the summer transfer window, and will not rush into a decision.
Eddie Howe 'fell out of favour' with the Newcastle board
Howe was manager of Newcastle for nearly five years, stepping down this summer after a difficult season and a turbulent transfer window.
The Magpies transformed under his watch, going from a relegation battle to winning the Carabao Cup last year and multiple qualifications for the Champions League.
It was a similar story for the Englishman at Bournemouth, who he took from League Two to the Premier League over the course of two stints and around 10 years in charge.
"You look at Eddie Howe, he's available," King told Football Insider. He continued: "Howe certainly has been managing for a good few years now and has produced results from his days at Bournemouth.
"He went to Newcastle, won the league cup and then seemed to fall out of favour with the board. I think his main ally on the board was Amanda Staveley.
"The moment she became not involved with the football so much, or the football club, Eddie seemed to lose his main ally there. Again, football's always based on results and he had a little bit of a sticky patch and now they've moved him on.
"He's not a bad manager to be available and he certainly wouldn't cost a compensation fee. It's been a long time since they've had an English manager."

Ryan Mason was Tottenham's last English manager, serving as an interim on two occasions following the sackings of Antonio Conte and Jose Mourinho.
Their last permanent English manager was Tim Sherwood, who took charge for around half a season between 2013 and 2014.
The former Tottenham player had good moments in charge but ultimately disappointed and was replaced by Mauricio Pochettino.
Harry Redknapp came before him, taking over in 2008 and leading the North London club to the top four twice in three seasons.
