Tottenham's fearless transfer window has continued with the £92million deal to sign Sandro Tonali from Newcastle United, adding to an £85million agreement to land Mateus Fernandes from West Ham. The North London side have completely changed the way they do business this summer, and many fans will be relieved to see the purse strings loosened.

Back-to-back bottom half finishes seem to have scared Spurs into action, and it's likely Roberto De Zerbi received big assurances prior to taking a job he turned down just a few months prior.

With more than £200million committed, Spurs are still said to be eyeing further targets this summer, and the latest being considered is an England World Cup star in Marcus Rashford.

Tottenham's Rashford transfer stance

Tottenham have been linked with a move with for-sale Manchester United forward Rashford this summer. The winger has returned to the top of his game with an impressive campaign with Barcelona, scoring 14 and managing as many assists. Barca had the chance to sign him permanently before the end of June, but they signed an alternative instead in Anthony Gordon, who has labelled his Three Lions teammate as 'one of the best players in the world' on his day.

United are said to be asking for around £40million to sell Rashford, who is currently at the World Cup with England, although the price may differ based on whether the buyer is a Premier League club or one abroad.

From Tottenham's point of view, De Zerbi does want a winger, and according to The Independent, he views Rashford as a valuable option due to his ability to play as a winger and a striker.

But at this stage, their attacking targets are not concrete, with Manchester City's Savinho also being considered, so a deal is not close, and in any case, it's likely Rashford will wait until he returns to decide his future, even if teammate Elliot Anderson has secured a transfer during his time in North America.

'Rashford the reliable' - Tuchel

England boss Thomas Tuchel has described Rashford as 'reliable' during this World Cup, which explains why the United forward started the Three Lions' narrow win over DR Congo on Wednesday night.

"We tried and tried. Marcus was just unlucky," said Tuchel after the Ghana game. "He is pushing and pushing like always. Every time I bring him on, he is super reliable.

"Everyone is trying. I'm not upset with players who try. You need a bit of luck, you need momentum and we will get there."
