Tottenham are said to have a two-time Champions League winner as they bid to improve their midfield. Spurs are enjoying a bold transfer window as they look to put two disastrous Premier League campaigns behind them.

Roberto De Zerbi is going to be backed in the market, and it's clear Tottenham are willing to invest big to tick off key targets this summer, already spending big to land Jan Paul van Hecke from Brighton.

The midfield is a big area of concern, with Yves Bissouma headed out and the general standard needing to improve in the middle of the park. Spurs now look to be prioritsing a midfielder deal, and there are a number of targets on the table.

Camavinga emerges as option

According to a top Tottenham source on X, Spurs have Real Madrid midfielder Eduardo Camavinga on their list of targets as they look to bolster their ranks in the middle. Adam Wharton is said to be under consideration, along with Mateus Fernandes and Sandro Tonali, who they have already seen a bid rejected for.

Camavinga is an ultra-versatile midfielder who can play deep, further forward and as a full-back. The 'world-class' France international is a two-time Champions League and two-time LaLiga winner.

The midfielder is still only 23 years of age, and he is likely to be a cheaper option when compared to Tonali, who will cost £80million to £90million. Camavinga is likely to cost £50-£60million this summer, and a deal might be on the table, especially if Real Madrid buy Chelsea's Enzo Fernandez, as has been rumoured.

Camavinga a 'spectacular' midfielder

Former Real Madrid and current Brazil boss Carlo Ancelotti described Camavinga as 'spectacular' back in 2023. He said in a previous comment: "We all know the quality he has, physical and technical. Then on the pitch he's shown his personality, we didn't know about that. What happens in games doesn't worry him, he's confident."

Camavinga made 43 appearances for Real Madrid in the season just gone, but he was left out of the France World Cup squad in a surprise move from Dider Deschamps. Although, the midfielder didn't have the best of seasons, like a number of Los Blancos players. It was a chaotic season at the Bernabeu, with Xabi Alonso quickly losing his job and Alvaro Arbeloa taking over on a temporary basis. José Mourinho is now in charge, but Camavinga may yet leave before he gets chance to work with the Portuguese boss.
