Some of Tottenham's huge group of players out on loan across England and Europe have been starting to get their seasons properly up and running but others have been left frustrated.

Spurs have got 17 of their players, some first team stars and others youngsters, plying their trade at clubs across the Premier League, Football League and also at teams in Italy, Germany, Portugal and Belgium. Some of them have obligations for their new clubs to sign them if they meet certain requirements, while some have options to make their moves permanent and others just want to impress Roberto De Zerbi or anybody watching.

This season, as football.london always does each year, we're going to keep a close eye on all of the north London outfit's players out on loan across this long campaign. That includes those who have obligations to leave as they are still Tottenham players until that moment they officially depart the club.

Here's what happened to all 17 of Spurs' loan players this week:

Pape Matar Sarr (Juventus)

Pape Matar Sarr earned plenty of plaudits after coming on for the second half for Juventus in their 2-0 win against Atalanta on Sunday afternoon.

Sarr joined the Old Lady in a £2.4million loan deal with certain conditions during this coming season set to trigger an obligation to buy him for £23.5million.

This was the first week that the 23-year-old has caught the eye in Turin after fully recovering from a muscle injury suffered at Tottenham. He almost scored against NEC in the Europa League in midweek during his first start for Juventus as they won 5-0 and he further impressed against Atalanta.

"Sarr? I liked the way he came in. He struggled at Sassuolo, but I liked him against Atalanta. He touched the ball a lot, he has this run of pace, and it shows what kind of player he is," said pundit Andrea Stramaccioni on DAZN, as reported by Sport Witness.

"80% of the tackles won are his, but it’s not just that, he has that through ball in his arsenal, and if he can find it in the future, he could become something important."

With Juventus light on bodies in midfield due to injuries, Sarr has a big chance to push his claims for a prominent role going forward.

Guglielmo Vicario (Juventus)

Sarr's Spurs team-mate Guglielmo Vicario got a clean sheet as Juventus got back to winning ways on Sunday with that win against Atalanta.

The goalkeeper had got a rest on the bench for the Europa League victory in midweek and now has three clean sheets in his first five matches in Turin.

The 29-year-old is having a great time at Juventus, after agreeing terms on a free loan deal for the Serie A side, containing an option to buy the 29-year-old for a total of £8.5million, which includes £1.7million in add-ons.

Radu Dragusin (Fiorentina)

Radu Dragusin admits he is looking to put his tough times at Tottenham behind him.

The Romanian centre-back joined Fiorentina this summer in a loan deal with a £21.4million obligation to buy which will be triggered by various conditions as this campaign goes on.

The 24-year-old has played seven matches for the Florence-based outfit, weighing in with two assists at the other end of the pitch, and has played every minute in Serie A so far, including Sunday's 1-1 draw at home against Napoli which followed on from the team's first win of the league campaign the following weekend at Venezia.

Dragusin impressed in both of those games after receiving criticism for some of his early displays after arriving back in Italy.

"I’m better now, but it’s normal to find the right path at the beginning. At Tottenham I didn’t have much consistency, in the end the present is what matters most. Now we need to continue to grow and improve," he said as reported by Sport Witness.

"I need to continue to grow, otherwise I’ll never improve. Today I played well, but I’m looking for ways to improve. Matches are also played based on the opponent. You need a lot of intensity and concentration in one-on-one situations, so you have to always be alert. Because if you lose that duel, it becomes difficult."

Kevin Danso (Sunderland)

Kevin Danso is loving life at Sunderland so far and has already become a firm favourite with their fans.

The 28-year-old has played three Premier League matches for his new side and also helping them to a clean sheet and victory on Sunderland's return to European football after 53 years away as they beat AZ 1-0 at home in midweek.

Sunday brought a more goal-laden game for the Austria international as Manchester City ran out 5-3 winners in a crazy game at the Etihad Stadium and Danso was involved in a couple of the hosts' goals.

The Sunderland Echo gave him a player rating of five for his performance with the review: "Did a lot of good work defensively but it was a poor pass out of his box for City’s second goal. Unlucky in the second half when his clearance hit Mukiele and ran for Semenyo to score."

Danso secured a £2.5million loan with an obligation for the Black Cats to buy him for £22.5million if they stay up in the Premier League. The move sees him team up with Sunderland's director of football Florent Ghisolfi after their time together at Lens.

Mikey Moore (Koln)

Mikey Moore is yet to taste victory for his loan club Koln after making the move from Tottenham at the end of the summer window.

The 19-year-old has played just three games so far for the Bundesliga side and after their draw last week at home against Werder Bremen, Koln went down 2-1 at Hamburg on Saturday. Moore played as the number 10 in a central role during the defeat and the played the full match with Ragnar Ache's 90th minute goal merely a consolation for the Cologne-based side.

During the game, Moore managed three shots with one on target, went on three dribbles, made two interceptions and one tackle with a rating of 6.54 on Whoscored.

Souza (Porto)

Souza remains an unused substitute for Porto and once again sat on the bench as the Portuguese league leaders beat Benfica 3-1 at home on Sunday.

The left-back had been linked with a move to Portugal all summer, albeit mainly with permanent deals. Spurs had no real intention of selling the 20-year-old, who they only signed from Santos in January this year and rate highly.

Now the Brazilian is at Porto on a free loan for the season, without an option to buy, with his new club taking on his salary and Souza is awaiting his first minutes of the campaign.

Kota Takai (Sint-Truidense VV)

Kota Takai is also yet to play for Belgian club STVV but the 22-year-old has at least been on the bench in the previous two matches after sorting all of his documentation for the move as a non-EU player.

The Japan international centre-back has joined a club in the Jupiler League that has Japanese owners and a history of working with players from that country.

Takai needs to get his career back on track after an injury-hit first year at Spurs, which featured an unsuccessful loan at Borussia Monchengladbach, and the centre-back is yet to play a competitive game for the north London club or so far his new loan team.

Yang Min-hyeok (Westerlo)

At another point in the season, Takai and Yang Min-hyeok might have played against each other as Westerlo won 2-0 at STVV at the weekend.

However, the 20-year-old South Korean winger remains out of action, having suffered an injury soon after joining the club this season and now with his country at the Under-23s Asian Games.

Like Takai, Yang will be hoping for minutes this season when he's back after his previous two loans at Portsmouth and then Coventry brought too many matches watching on from the sidelines, particularly with Frank Lampard's Championship winners.

Mason Melia (Lincoln City)

Mason Melia celebrated his 19th birthday on Tuesday but remains out with a thigh injury that will be keep him from playing for both Lincoln and the Republic of Ireland until next month.

The teenage striker, who made his Republic of Ireland senior debut this summer and played 98 senior matches for St Patrick's Athletic before Spurs saw off competition to sign him, had come off the bench in three of Lincoln's previous six matches and starting one.

However, now he faces a spell out after finally getting his chance of regular minutes in the Championship.

Oliver Irow (Plymouth Argyle)

Oliver Irow's spectacular loan at Plymouth Argyle in League One continues at pace and he scored twice on Saturday in the 4-2 victory at Blackpool.

His first strike came from an excellent swivel and left-footed shot from a bouncing ball in the Blackpool box and then his second was a powerful finish in the second half from a cross that bounced all the way to his side of the box.

The 20-year-old winger now has four goals from his opening six matches for his new club, helping them record three wins on the trot.

Yusuf Akhamrich (Leyton Orient)

Yusuf Akhamrich continues to get minutes and praise with Leyton Orient in League One and he played another full 90 minutes on Saturday as they won 1-0 at home against Stevenage.

The 20-year-old right winger already has racked up three goals and three assists from his first seven league matches this season although on Saturday he struggled to get into the game as much as he has in recent weeks. Last week the livewire attacker grabbed two assists in the 3-2 home defeat to Wycombe Wanderers.

Jamie Donley (Luton Town)

Jamie Donley had a rare appearance off the bench rather than in the starting line-up at the weekend as he came on for the final 15 minutes as Luton Town lost 1-0 at home to Bradford City in League One on Saturday.

The 21-year-old Northern Ireland international, on a straight loan with no option for the Hatters to buy him, has already made five appearances for his loan side since arriving with one goal and one assist.

Reiss Russell-Denny (Bristol Rovers)

Reiss Russell-Denny continues to get minutes from the bench in League Two and got 18 minutes as a substitute in Bristol Rovers' 3-0 defeat on the road at Gillingham on Saturday.

The 20-year-old midfielder returned from Tottenham's tour Down Under to make his first steps in senior competitive football with Rovers and they now sit top of the early League Two table.

Damola Ajayi (Barnet)

Damola Ajayi has started getting minutes for League Two side Barnet after making a loan switch late in the summer window.

The 20-year-old right winger came off the bench last weekend for the second half of the 2-1 win against Accrington and on Saturday got on the pitch for the last few minutes of the 3-1 victory against Fleetwood.

Ajayi spent last season on loan at Doncaster Rovers and then Bromley, having made his Tottenham bow the previous campaign with a spectacular debut goal against Elfsborg on the club's route to winning the Europa League.

George Abbott (Mansfield Town)

George Abbott is still undergoing rehabilitation after injury while awaiting his return to action for Mansfield following last season's loan at the League One club.

Town boss Nigel Clough said of the 21-year-old when he signed: "We’re extremely pleased that George has decided to come back for a second spell with us. We were hugely impressed with him last season and hope he’ll complement our midfield for the remainder of the season.

"He won’t be fully fit when he arrives and we'll have to give him a few weeks until he’s available, but the deal reflects that."

Luca Gunter (Boreham Wood)

Tottenham's 21-year-old goalkeeper Luca Gunter is loving life at National League high-flyers Boreham Wood.

Gunter was between the sticks for the 4-1 home win against Harrogate Town on Saturday and the Spurs stopper is yet to experience defeat this season.

He is getting his second loan experience under his belt after his time at Wealdstone last season.

Dylan Thompson (Enfield Town)

Spurs' 18-year-old keeper Dylan Thompson enjoyed another FA Cup victory as Isthmian League Premier Division side Enfield Town made it through to the third qualifying round with a 3-1 win at Billericay Town.

The teenager will now travel with Enfield to Oxford City in the next round on October 3.
