Bad news has emerged regarding one on-loan Tottenham starlet, who could potentially be ruled out for a significant period after coming off injured on Sunday.

Alejo Veliz admitted that he wanted to return to Rosario Central after two difficult years in Europe, and Spurs granted the striker his wish, sending him back to the club they signed him from in 2023.

Some Tottenham fans were bewildered by Tottenham’s decision to loan Veliz back to Argentina, with many feeling that he would have been better served being loaned out to a European side.

However, the 21-year-old would certainly be delighted with his decision as he has been playing regularly for his boyhood side since his return.

Fears that Tottenham’s Alejo Veliz has suffered a dislocation

The on-loan Tottenham Hotspur striker has played 551 minutes from seven games for Rosario Central this season, managing a goal, but his latest outing did not go well.

Veliz came off with an injury in the 42nd minute of Rosario’s 1-1 draw against Boca Juniors, and there are fears that the issue may be serious.

This is according to the information provided by La Capital, who say that the striker left through a different door than the other players and was the last to leave the stadium on Sunday.

Rosario Central manager admits Veliz injury concern

La Capital say that Rosario are remaining hopeful that the centre-forward’s setback is not a serious one.

However, Spurs fans will not take too much confidence from the admission of the club’s manager, Ariel Holan, who admitted after the game that he is ‘sad’ for Veliz.

Holan is quoted as saying in the report after the 1-1 draw with Boca: “I’m a little sad about Alejo. He has a blow on his collarbone. We need to run tests and see what’s wrong.”
