Tottenham Hotspur travel to Molineux this weekend for a defining fixture in their battle for Premier League survival, and the appointment of the match officials for the clash with Wolves may offer a subtle boost to Roberto De Zerbi’s struggling side.

Tottenham Hotspur simply cannot afford to let their confidence drop at this stage of the season with so much still to play for.

Relegation remains a strong possibility for the North London club, who are currently sitting in the bottom three of the Premier League table following a dismal, winless start to 2026 that has left them without a victory in their last 15 attempts.

But Spurs have a significant opportunity to improve their record this calendar year with a win this weekend against an already relegated Wolves side.

However, De Zerbi’s men will have to improve their away record at Molineux if they are to secure a vital victory, as they currently remain without a win in their last three visits to the West Midlands.

Anthony Taylor appointed for Tottenham trip to Wolverhampton Wanderers

The Premier League has now confirmed the match officials for the clash between Spurs and Wolves on Saturday.

Anthony Taylor has been named referee, while Gary Beswick and Adam Nunn are set to be his assistants on the afternoon. Tom Bramall will take on fourth official duties, with VAR handled by Peter Bankes and assistant VAR Tim Robinson.

Spurs record under Anthony Taylor compared to Wolves

Despite their poor form this year, Spurs have been predicted to beat Wolves this weekend according to predictions from a supercomputer, although the contest is expected to be tightly fought.

However, while recent form suggests a difficult afternoon, the chances for Spurs could be improved when examining their historical record with Anthony Taylor in the middle.

The North London club has won exactly half of the matches the Cheshire official has overseen, winning 25 out of 50 matches while drawing six and losing 19.

This relatively positive win percentage stands in stark contrast to their current 15-game winless streak and provides a glimmer of hope for a fanbase desperate for a turnaround.

Meanwhile, the record for Wolves under the match official is considerably less impressive, as they have lost significantly more games than they have won when he has officiated.

Of the 33 matches Anthony Taylor has taken charge of involving Wolves, they have won ten, lost 17 and drawn six.
