Tottenham Hotspur have not admitted defeat in their pursuit of Savinho just yet, despite Manchester City’s reluctance to sell the winger.
Over the last few days, it has been widely reported that Tottenham are now trying to tie up a deal for Savinho, just a year on from his move from Girona to Manchester City.
According to various sources, Savinho is keen on a move to Spurs, but a deal for the 21-year-old may not be straightforward for the Lilywhites, with reports indicating that Tottenham’s £43m offer has been turned down by Man City.
The Athletic even asserted on Tuesday that after turning down Spurs’ offer, Man City told Tottenham that Savinho is not for sale, and the Manchester club consider the matter to be closed.

The Daily Mail have now also confirmed that the opening offer from the North London club, worth £43m, has been sent back by Pep Guardiola’s side.
The report states that ‘preliminary talks’over the Brazilian have taken place between the two Premier League sides.
Interestingly, the outlet claims that Spurs have not abandoned their pursuit of the former Girona man and are now expected to make an improved offer.
