Everton could offer Richarlison a sensational return to Merseyside this summer.

The Friedkin Group want to make a statement signing for Everton, and Richarlison is viewed as a player who could excite the fans.

David Moyes will be keen to see attacking reinforcements brought through the door ahead of the return to Finch Farm next month.

Some exciting months lie ahead of Everton as the club undergoes a big transformation both on and off the pitch.

But the off-the-field changes, like the appointment of Angus Kinnear, will be judged on the new signings that come through the door.

Everton would like to re-sign Richarlison as he is at risk of being moved on at Tottenham Hotspur.

However, Troy Deeney has now issued the Toffees a major warning after something he’s spotted about the Brazilian.

It has recently been suggested that Tottenham would approve Richarlison’s exit, with strong interest coming from Galatasaray.

MORE EVERTON STORIES

The Brazil international has now returned to the national squad having earned himself a Europa League winners medal with Spurs.

Speaking on The Fellas podcast, Deeney has admitted he doesn’t like what he’s seen from Richarlison of late.

“I think a little bit of the Richarlison we had [at Watford] has died with the money, which is fine. It’s complacency, we all get like that,” he said.

“He was unbelievable, goes to Everton and did well, but went to Spurs and suffered injuries and little bits like the tattoos…”

Despite Deeney’s comments, Richarlison has admitted he needs to improve this summer after his struggles through injury.

But the 27-year-old did play a key role in Tottenham’s Europa League final, having started the game in place of club captain Heung-min Son.

Richarlison needs an injury-free 2025/26 campaign

The comments from Deeney do come across slightly odd considering Richarlison has looked fairly bright for Tottenham when he has been able to remain fit.

Of course, his injury record is a major issue, but the Brazilian has not done anything to be called out on away from the pitch.

Richarlison wanted Everton to show more ambition, and that is certainly on display under the new ownership.

It feels as if Richarlison is now in need of somewhere he can nail down some regular minutes and Everton could offer him exactly that at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.
