Tottenham Hotspur suffered a defeat in their most recent Premier League outing, but this has not stopped two of their players from being announced in the WhoScored team of the week.
Tottenham Hotspur are a club in crisis, and this was worsened by a 3-2 defeat to Bournemouth last Wednesday in the Premier League.
Spurs took the lead early into the game, and despite falling behind, they drew level with just over 10 minutes left to play.
However, Antoine Semenyo left Bournemouth with a parting gift, scoring in stoppage time to provide his club of three years with one final victory before his departure to Manchester City.
Two Tottenham players have been named in the WhoScored Team of the Week
Despite Spurs failing to take anything from their fixture against Bournemouth, Cristian Romero has been named in the WhoScored team of the week.
The Tottenham captain may have been partly to blame for the hosts’ opening goal, but he won a mind-blowing 21 duels during the game and even got forward to assist the attack at times. In total, only three players were given a higher rating than Romero, who scored a 9.05 for his performance.
MORE SPURS STORIES
Mathys Tel also made the team of the week, and this was surely helped by his fifth-minute goal. The Frenchman looks more comfortable on the left wing, and he has achieved a rating of 8.41 after a positive individual display.
Spurs need their whole team to perform
Unfortunately, Romero and Tel’s performances were not enough to see Tottenham take any points on Wednesday night, and this is because some of their teammates were poor.
It is essential that the whole Spurs team are on song; otherwise they are not going to get results, and this includes the man calling the shots – Thomas Frank.
