Tottenham Hotspur head coach Martin Ho says that his side will have to be on top form when they take on Aston Villa this afternoon.
The Lilywhites play host to The Villans at the BetWright Stadium in their latest Barclays Women's Super League match.
Despite playing some of the top sides, Aston Villa have made a strong start to the season. When speaking in the pre-match press conference, Spurs boss Ho highlighted some of the changes to Aston Villa's playing style this season and said that his side will have to be at their best.
"They've definitely changed the way that they play, maybe the impact of Brian [Sørensen] being there has also impacted their playing style," Ho said. "They're more offensive, more fluid on and off the ball. They're very good defensively in terms of defending in the mid-to-high phases, very good pressure.
"It'll be a difficult game against them. They've had some difficult games to start; Chelsea, Man City, Brighton. They've played some difficult games, we've played some difficult games, but we know every game that we play is going to be tough. We are going to have to be right at it."
Spurs hammered Crystal Palace 7-0 in their last league outing. Four of the five substitutes introduced by Ho contributed to goals in that game. The Spurs boss admits that he has difficult decisions to make when it comes to team selection.
He said "It's the part of the job that you don't want as a coach, but you do want a headache of everyone performing, everyone contributing, having different decisions to make tactically depending on how you think a game's going to play out and who you want to start and finish with, the impact of those players who can come in and change the game.
"You never want anyone to be disappointed, but the way I try and manage it is the expectation and standards for every player is the same. I expect a high level of quality in training, good attitude, good behaviour, good body language. Decisions are made on what we want tactically, but also the way that you conduct yourself for this football club and the team.
"There are so many different avenues that I look at. Performance in terms of characteristics is the first then I'll go through the rest of it. I have a headache and players will be disappointed and frustrated, but the big thing is that they're professional with what they do."
Spurs go into this afternoon's fixture in third place in the league table. Ho says that it is far too early to be paying much attention to rankings.
He said "We're only three games into the season. We have a lot of work to do to get to that point [the top three]. With the four games added to the season, the league gets more stretched and you've got to deal with a more congested schedule which is part of the balance that we have to find.
"We are not looking at it [the table] much at this moment in time, only in terms of the goals for and against. As time goes on, I know we will be talking about if it's mathematically possible to quality for the Champions League."
