Benjamin Sesko and Harry Maguire both suffered injury scares as Manchester United drew 2-2 with Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon. Matthijs De Ligt scored in the sixth minute of added time to secure a point for his side after Mathys Tel and Richarlison had turned the game on its head.
United led 1-0 at half-time after a brilliant goal from Bryan Mbeumo, but lost control of the encounter when Casemiro and Maguire were withdrawn in the second half. Maguire appeared to be in some pain and dropped to the floor before he was replaced by Leny Yoro, while fellow substitute Benjamin Sesko also went down with a knock.
Ruben Amorim had used all of his substitutes and had to stick with Sesko until the end of the match, and it is unclear just how serious his setback might be.
Manchester United confirm Sesko injury scare
Speaking at full-time, Manchester United head coach Ruben Amorim admitted he 'thinks' Benjamin Sesko might have an injury problem after his withdrawal against Tottenham Hotspur.
"We have to see, we think he has a problem but let's see," he told TNT Sports at full-time. "It's a little frustration, but also pride at the response of the players at the response to second goal of Tottenham. This is the tip of the iceberg, we are at the beginning of becoming a strong team, so we have a lot to do."
United have a two-week break before they face Everton in the Premier League on Monday 24 November, which should give Sesko and Harry Maguire some time to recover. They will head into that match on the back of a five-match unbeaten run and Amorim is happy with the character his side have shown.
He added: "During the game we felt like the three points were there to take home. But then with everything that happened, Harry Maguire and Casemiro coming off and conceding two goals... we scored again and it's a point.
"When you cannot win you don't lose, once again we did that. We have so much to grow as a team, because today was our day to win this game. We need to look at ourselves, we were not pressing with the same intensity, we felt comfortable but we need to understand that if we had more bravery we kill the game. But sometimes this happens, you have a better first half than second. We believe in our capacity to score goals until the last minute."
