Tottenham Hotspur are expected to accelerate their move for Eberechi Eze over the next 48 hours, according to a new report.

Tottenham have made some smart acquisitions so far this summer, securing the services of Mohammed Kudus and Joao Palhinha, who have both hit the ground running at N17.

However, Spurs are expected to spend big in the final weeks of the transfer window, and they have now turned their attention to another experienced Premier League star.

According to various reports over the last 24 hours, Eze has agreed personal terms with Spurs, whose talks with Palace are now progressing.

Tottenham will accelerate Eberechi Eze talks over the next two days

It has now been revealed by BBC Sport that Spurs will step up their talks over a deal for Eze, which is expected to progress in the next 48 hours.

It is explained that Spurs and Palace have been locked in discussions over the attacking midfielder since the start of last week.

These discussions are said to be ‘progressing positively’ right now, with growing hope at N17 that a deal for the Palace star is now within reach.

MORE SPURS STORIES

The report adds that Tottenham are negotiating an offer slightly lower than Eze’s release clause of £60m, plus a further £8m in add-ons, which has now expired.

A twist in Eze saga suggests deal is not close yet

Until Saturday, it was widely reported that Eze is not expected to feature for Crystal Palace against Chelsea as he was close to a move to Spurs.

However, the attacking midfielder was named in Oliver Glasner’s starting line-up at Stamford Bridge, which suggests that an agreement between the two clubs is still not close.
