Pedro Porro, Guglielmo Vicario and Destiny Udogie's nations all enjoyed important wins as they continued in their respective fights for places at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Beginning with Pedro and Spain, the full-back was once again selected to start for his nation as they hosted Bulgaria in Valladolid.

Earning his 14th cap for his country, the defender played the full 90 minutes to help his side to a 4-0 win, continuing their impeccable start to qualification.

Now four games in, Spain have won all four matches, scoring 15 goals in the process while they are also yet to concede.

Meanwhile, in Italy, Guglielmo and Destiny were unused substitutes as Italy closed the gap on Group I leaders Norway to three points with a 3-0 win over Manor Solomon's Israel.

The win means Italy have secured at least a play-off place for the tournament. They are likely going to need to win each of their remaining games while they will likely also need free-scoring Norway to drop points in their next outing - the visit of Estonia - if they are to secure automatic qualification.

Manor played 89 minutes of the game in Udine before being substituted.
