Xavi Simons suffered an Anterior Cruciate Ligament injury in his right knee back in April, and he's been working hard to rebuild his fitness.
Xavi Simons has jetted off to the United States to step up preparations ahead of his long-awaited return to action. At the end of April, the Tottenham Hotspur midfielder ruptured the Anterior Cruciate Ligament in his right knee, ruling him out for the remainder of the season and much of the following campaign.
Simons had only featured a couple of times under Roberto De Zerbi, who was drafted in to save the Lilywhites from Premier League relegation, before suffering the injury. The Netherlands international hit the ground running under his new boss, scoring a goal and providing an assist on his first start.
The following weekend, the 23-year-old was forced to come off during the 1-0 win over Wolves at Molineux, and he's been sidelined ever since. Although Simons has often been spotted at Hotspur Way in training gear, he may not return to the pitch until the start of next year.
But, desperate to get back on the grass, he's travelled Stateside to undergo the next stage of his rehabilitation programme. This week, the Dutchman has paid a visit to the training facility of the NFL side, the Baltimore Ravens.

Simons also stopped in Boston to work at the training facility of the NHL team, the Bruins, where he exchanged shirts with David Pastrnak, who visited the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium back in 2023.
The Dutchman also surprised fans at the Boston Spurs Official Supporters’ Club at LongCross Bar and Kitchen on Saturday morning before Aston Villa extended Tottenham's winless start to the new Premier League season.
According to club media, the Spurs talisman will visit Santa Monica next. In the meantime, as pictured above, Simons has been working hard in the gym, completing a variety of exercises, including dumbbell Bulgarian split squats.
As it stands, it remains unclear when exactly the midfielder will return to action, but he certainly seems to have made good progress on the road to a full recovery, which comes as a much-needed boost for the under-pressure De Zerbi.
Interestingly, when Simons announced Tottenham's signing of Savio from Manchester City at the end of August, Simons claimed he'll 'soon' join his new teammate on the pitch.
In a video uploaded across the Lilywhites' social media channels, he said: "Welcome to Spurs, bro. I'm happy you're finally here. You're going to love it. The fans have been so good with me since I joined.
"And when they see you play, I know they're going to love you too. I'm working hard every day to get back. But soon we'll be both in the squad and on the pitch. I just can't wait."
Simons added: "For now, I'll just watch you, and I'll support you. And anything you need, I've got you. And I know everyone here will do the same. So enjoy it, Irmao. I am really looking forward to celebrating together with you. This is yours now, too..."
